HYPER HOUSE

Contact Technologies, workshop

12 May, 2024

Contact Technologies is a workshop exploring sound as a way of contact with the world. Through sound technologies we can make sound tactile and build an experience that can amplify our relationship with things and with the world. In the workshop we will learn about some technical and conceptual tools that allow us to play with that invisible layer that animates the world: vibration and sound. In the workshop we will use Touchboard, sensors and various interactive materials.

Taught by: Coco Moya (Gijón, 1982) is an artist and musician. Through the use of processed voice, interactive technologies, and raw materials such as salt or coal stones, she seeks to in-corporate the imagination and the intuitive in a practical thinking that could be called paleocybernetic or technochamánico. She is a professor of Soundscape at TAI Arts Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, and has lectured in various forums such as CA2M, the Faculty of Philosophy of the UCM, or La Casa Encendida.

This workshop promoted by HYPER HOUSE was part of the programme of MMMAD+ Conference on Art and Technology that took place from 10-12 May 2024 at Medialab Matadero.
