DPA, Santiago Colombo Migliorero
16-26 April, 2026
Technology fascinates us and, at the same time, sends shivers down our spines. AI can free us from daily tasks or take our jobs away; help create a utopian world or enslave us. A few months ago, I saw a sign in a square that read: “Technology will not save us.” DPA is a performative installation inspired by destructive testing—laboratory tests that measure the mechanical properties of objects by breaking or deforming them—and by the Luddite and Neo-Luddite spirit, with the aim of intensifying the tension in our relationship with technology.
This exhibition is part of MMMAD Festival 2026. Project co-funded by the European Union through DIGITAL on STAGE.
Santiago Colombo Migliorero. Visual and audiovisual artist whose practice investigates the memory of objects, their materialities, and the traces they leave behind—ghosts, temporalities, and rhythms. He explores the convergence between the digital and the non-digital, the haptic qualities of sculptures, mechanical objects, and materials, as well as the ethereality of the digital realm, CGI, and territory. His work has been exhibited and developed in collaboration with institutions such as BilbaoArte Fundazioa, ACC Kulturzentrum (Germany), BAFICI (Argentina), B93 (Netherlands), the Museum of Contemporary Art of the Basque Country, the Círculo de Bellas Artes Madrid, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Bogotá, CentroCentro, Conde Duque, the Instituto Di Tella (Argentina), and CC Recoleta (Argentina), among others.
