Harpies, group exhibition

6-13 June, 2025

Harpies, winged monsters, hybrids of woman and bird, punished by the gods and condemned to devour. They have historically been figures associated with excess and the undesirable. However, beneath their image lies an ancestral force — a capacity for deviation and flight, for lurking and transformation. This group exhibition takes its name from them to reclaim their symbolism.

Harpies brings together ten artists who, through diverse practices such as performance, installation, sculpture, body intervention, cartography, and textiles, embody a common gesture: to fracture the normative boundaries of body and identity. Far from seeking an aesthetic of calm, these works inhabit dissonance, instability, and resistance. Each one, in its own singularity, invites us to imagine other ways of being in the world.
